his home, 62 Putnam avenue. yester-
day ntte'rnoon, at the aged of 46 years. 9'
after an illness of a. little over a week.
Everything that medical skill could do
was attempted in the endeavor to save
his life, but to no avail.
The deceased was one of South Nor-
walk's best known and leading busi-
nessmerl He was prominent as a suc-
cessful ice dealer and had recently
started work on a new coal yard in
Crescent street, which he had hoped
to develop into an adjunct to his other
venture by fall. His demise will be
greatly felt by all.
Beside his mother and father. Mr.
Pickering is survived by a Wife and
eight children: Charles. James. Cath-
erine, Qggrge. Frederick, Francis. Jack
and Annarita and e, sister, Mrs. John 9,
heaven, of Grand Rapids, Mich. The I I
sympathy of the community is extend- ‘ 1
ed to the survivors.
The deceased was a past exalted
ruler of South Norwallc Lodge. No.

the board of trustees oi the lodge. He
took a deep interest in all matters con-
nested with the organisation and was
one of Ills hardest workers enrolled
there. *
The funeral services will be held ‘
from his late home, on Friday morn-

eph's Church at 9 o’clock. Interment
will take place in St. Mary’sacemetery.
