mittee met, last evening, in the Town
Court room, (Rev. DrnA. F. ’Beard, pre-

Mr, Smith is accustomed to having
one of the local doctors attend him.
Seized with the attack of appendicitis
about 2 o'clock in the morning he
telephoned to the physician but could
get no answ‘er. He saddled a horse
and rode'to this town, barely able to
keep his seat, and on arrival here
found that .the doctor was not at
home. He then hurried to the mob
deuce of Dr. Powers. who assisted
him temporarily and then summoned
the ambulance from Norwalk. lie
was taken to the hospital in that
town shortly after 3 o'clock. The
man was in a bad condition, accord-
ing to the local examiner. and he
characterized the wild rise in the
night as sheer madness. when there
were plenty of doctors within a short
distance of his home.

Hearing on People's Trust: company.

for a charter for the People's Trust
Company of Norwsik and a number of
local gentlemen will attend the hear-
ing. There will be opposition from
local banking institutions and a com-
mittee of those named as incorpora-
tora for the new trust company will
be present to urge the granting of the
charter.
it is understood that the trust com
pany will be incorporated at a capt-
talisstion of $50,900 if the charter
should be granted, and permission
will he asked to increase the capital-
isation to $200,000 later. Permission
will also be asked to start business
with a capital of $25,000.
