In trying to avoid a. wagon which
he had not discerned in time, James
Strockbine of Oakvills turned his au-
tomobile to one side of .Main street
in that town at 0:15 last evening and
crashed into a post. The passengers
in his car were thrown headlong into
the road and Mrs. Strookbinc, who
was riding on the, front seat with
her husband, landed upon her head
and shoulders in such a manner as to
injure her fatally, death following at
the Waterbury Hospital, this morning.
She was picked up unconscious and
after being carried into Dr. Carl A.
Gade‘s otlice nearby, was hurried to
the Waterbury hospital for further
attention. She was attended by Dre.
Glide. Martin and Woodward
. We. Rummy Miss Parmeiee.
Mrs. Struckiliiie who formerly bliss
Ethel P. Warm Instigator of Mrs.
J. Samuel Bitidmors. of Rowan street
East INorwalli. She was united in
marriage to Mr. Strookbine on Ocio’
her 16th; at her home in Blast Nor-
walk. Before her marriage she was
a very popular school teacher. .
The news of the accident was first
