The misinformation among both the

prominent lawyer addressed a letter to
the editor of a leading magazine de~
claring that the people Were wrong
, who contended that the number of
electors to be chosen in the present
campaign was to be equal to the num-
ber of Senators and Representatives
in Congress under the reapportinnment
of the 1910 Census. He said that the
number of electors would correspond
to the number of senators and repre-
senlolve's in the cungress which ex»
plres next March.
The fact is the lawyer himself was
in error. But he was not alone in his
error. for even members of Congress
have sometimes fallen into the same
notion. Others have believed that in
lhg event. the election should be
thrown into the house the members el-i
ecied now would decide the issue. But
there again they are wrong. it is the
