.The‘Boy's Zion Club, ofthe 'Helbrew
School of South Norwalk made its
first public tri—monbhly appearance on
last evening in the form of a social
time held at the Beth Israel Synago
gue. The affair was a great success
both socially and financially and the
young men were greatly encouraged in
their work.
The affair was opened by Rabbi Kes—
ier, whi spoke on the topic “Koome
Ore Kc. Van Ourelch," which translat-
ed into English means, “Rise and Give
Forth Light for the Time of Light Has
me." His talk was devoted to a dis-
ertation upon the effects of education

carrying forth the work of the church
and abbetting him in his citizenship.
L. Golden, as chairman of the com
mittee in charge of the function, then
thanked the committee and the public
for their work and patronage and re
marked that had the school posessed
a golden book, the festival should re-
ceive its most prominent page as be-
ing one of the most creditable given
in the community. He said that the
school was trying to give the younger
generation the training which was
calculated to make it feel its own res
ponsl'bility and worth.
At the time of the opening of the
school, public sentiment regarded it as
a dream, “but the dream is being real‘
land by children receiving daily educa-
tion. In conclusion Mr. Golden ex-
pressed the hope that the people
would continue to patronize the insti-
tutlon,
A pogram was then rendered which-
consisted of mutations and songs by
several of the children. The feature
of the entertainment was the march
of eighty children, led by their teach-l
er, N. Gerstein. The young people
were excellently drilled and marched
to music dispensed by Morris Goods

The class also sang the national
hymns.
The party then adjourned to the
basement. where rercs-hmcnts were
served, during which time the young'
men netted $50 in an auction sale
which they conducted.
