Haven road to expend large amounts
of money there shortly, and that in
fact the whole western face of New

be changed in consequence.
it. is believed among railroad men
here that this large state expenditure
may result in the changing of the New
Haven rond's tracks to the rear of
that city. as has been talked for
some time. that a new depot will be
built there. regardless of any interest
on the ‘Dill‘l. of the New Haven as now
with the Central Vermont railroad,
and that the building of the needed
new Thames {river bridge ;for the New
Haven company will be begun com-
paratively soon. This bridge will run
across the Thames river to the north
of the present railroad bridge, lend-
ing to Boston at Winthrop‘s Neck. and
when it is constructed the present
railroad bridge will be abandoned.

will have to make extensive chnnges
at New London in the light of the re
cent million dollar improvement, and
that those changes have been talked
of for some time.
