M. Cole, formerly president of Cole‘s
Electric Express 00.. "stall. the
Connecticut 00., has been adjusted
out of court. The sfiount of settle-
ment is not known but it is reported
to have been between 88,000 and $10,-
.000.
The action resulted from a dispute
between Cole and the Connecticut
C0. regarding the value of the express
property which had been taken over
'by the corporation. In 1008 the Con-
necticut Co. absorbed the express
property. Cole. claimed it was valued
,at $711,000 and . the defendant placed
tihe value of $6,000.

upon as appraiser. lie lixed the value
at 811,941.15. it Is reported that the
Connecticut Co. was willing to pay

declaring that their claims for better
pay should be considered belore the
railroads granted any further in-
creases to their higher salaried em

. Earl ll. Morton of Boston, presi-
dent of the Order of Railroad Station
Agents, who gave out the statement,
said that it referred particularly to
the situation created by the recent
demand for higher wages made by the
engincrs. lie and 111s associates. he
said, had addressed no communication
directly to the railroad companies, but
the statement of their position made
public today, probably would be fol-
lowed in two weeks time by a formal
application for a general advance in
pay. The meeting was called two
weeks ago, but not publicly an-
nounced.
MISSOURI ANTI-TRUST LAWS UP-

WASHINGTON, April l.—The enti-
trust laws of Missouri were upheld to-
day by the Supreme Court of the Uni-
ted States. The court approved of the
state's action in ousting the Standard
Oil Company of iodine and the lie-
