enjoyed a hearty laugh. However, Mr.
Kaslty soon had a chance to forget his
discomfort in a burst of mirth when
Mr. Lovejoy also went through the
thin ice and was precipitated into the
cold, cold waters.

it is by sheer skill that the booking
managers of Hoyt‘s deterred Mr.
Mack's starring engagement for a
vaudeville engagement here. Mr. Mack
has endeared himself, not only to the
irish element in America. but to our
countrymen as wall. for he is a won-
derful artist. His reputation rests
largely on the possession of one of the
sweetest tenor voices ever heard on
the stone. but in addition to this. he is
an actor capable of sustaining exact-
ing parts and in his present oderlng he
shows he is an artist of partlculir cs
pabillty. "Brine isle.” Mr. Mack’s
first contribution to the vaudeville
stage is a romantic lrlsh story with a
realistic and beautiful stage picture.
The scene represents a garden with
trees and flowers almost sending their
fragrance over the footlights and its
naturalness would deceive a landscape
gardener. for it is a. wonder at art.
Supporting Mr. Mack are several play-
ers that were formerly assoeiated with
him in the legitimate. including Miss
Carrie Lamont, Miss Lou Ripley. Som-
uel Morris and James Duly.
