BARTRAM LOCKED UP.
Mistake Confin‘es Norwalk Young Man
For a Time.
Edward Bartram, of Harriet street,
was unfortunate yesterday in being
locked in one of the cells of the Nor-
wnlk police station. Bartram is the
well known painter and was buSy in-
side the cell when the door wns snap-
ped shut. The act was accomplished
by a friend in conversation with the
painter and was entirely unintention-
al, though annoying to Bartram otter
the friend had left the lockup.
The'statlon cells have been trans-
formed into “beauty parlors," but re-
cently renovated and now painted a
pure white. It; is feared that arrests
will be more frequent because of the
comfortable quarters. Sanitary, light
and pleasant are the cells and 9 they
might almost be termed attractive.
