Still a Few in The Norwalils Who
Have Not Compiled With
Latest Law
Town Clerk Herbert R. Smith, of
Norwalk, has called attention to the
fact that there are still a few concerns
in the town that have not complied
with the law in regard to business and
trade names. The law says in sub-
stance that no person shall conduct a
business under a fictitious or assumed
name without filing a certificate with
the town clerk of the name of! the per-
son conducting the business.
A number have complied with the
law, however, and they have been so
ranged in a book alphabetically as the
law prescribes. "The certificate must
be made out and must 'be duly acknow-
ledged by a person authorized to ad-
mlnlstel oaths. The law went into el-
tort October lst.
Section 3, ol the act says: “Any per-
son conductlng or transacting a busi-
ness in violation of the provisions of
this act shall be lined not more than
$500 or imprisoned not more than one
year."
