Corporation has transferred the con

degree from then-Yale, College faculty
to the graduate school faculty and
adopted more severe regulations for as
training the degree. Not including pres-
ent. graduate students for the degree
the new rules extend to two years the ,
requiremnt of study and eliminate the

When the condition of one of Bishop
& Lynes' horses looked suspiciously
like glandcrs. Dr. ll. E. Bates, was
called to look the animal over. He
.l‘ound that the horse was suffering
from farcy and recommended his dis-
pOsal. The horse was killed and hur-
7 led yest'erday.
Farcy is one of the first stages of
glanders and is a dangerous disease in
a horse. The usual course is to quar-
antine the barn where the horse has
been stabled and after killing the ani-
mal afflicted investigate for evidences
I of the dlsense in the other horses.
”The horses in the burn, it no traces
of the disease are found, are given an
anti-toxin injection and then kept un-
der the close surveillance of the vet-
erinarian in attendance. If the dis-
ease shows up the horses are killed as
last as theyman-llest symptoms.
This horse of lilahop & Lynes was
not dangerously affected with the dis-
ease. the stage being early at the time
of discovery. and the killing of the
animal was suggested as ”W best way
out of a possible difficulty and the 1th»
