The third grand boxing exhibition
of the Norwelk City Athletic Club
was held last evening in the assembly
hall. before the lsrgest audience they
have yet had. Considering the crowd
and the clean manner. in which the
situir was conducted, it shows conclu-
sively thst the_club is capable of giv-
ing a first-class entertainment. and
the attendance shows that the people
appreciate it.
The oiliclal announcer being unable

Mr. Barrett. of Stamford. acted as
referee and Mr. Mckhsrt, of Nora
walk on timekeeper.
The first bout was of lou'r rounds.
between Yunng Fay, of South Nor-
wslll. and Joe Jerome, of Westport.
Young Fay started strong in the first
round and had his msn going all
through the bout. Jerome sprained his
sulrie in the first round. but stayed
. until the finish. lie was outclassed by
Fay, hOWever. 0n conslderstion of it
being Jerome’s first public appear-
ance and going up against an exper-
ienced lad, he must be given credit
