County authorities renewed their ef-
forts today to apprehend Edward Don-
ate. the ltaliau farmhand. who is
wanted in connection with the mur-
(lei- of Mrs. (‘onrad .\iorner, her two
daughteis and son. some time. Tues-
(lay afternoon on a farm near Dc-
freestville, a few miles east of Albany.
With the aid of bloodhotwmds the of—
ficers yesterday traced the move-
ments of the italinn in the direction
‘ of Troy. The dogs followed the scent
to the West Sand Lake station of the
Troy and New England Railroad Com-
pany. A conductor was found who re~
membered that a man answering the
Italian's description had boarder a car
there, tendering five cents as fare. to
Troy. The fare to Troy is ten cents
and the conduCIor put the man off at
Snyder's Corners. There the blood—
‘itounds again piked up the scent, trail-
ing'lt to a barn on the road to Troy,
where it is presumed the Italian spent
Tuesday night. The scent was lost

An unknown man, about fifty years
old was killed on the New'Haven rail-
road, Just east of Elm street crossing,
Stamford, yesterday morning. He was
(run down from the rear, and the train
tossed him a number of feet. down the
north embankment of the road. His
head was crushed, and death was in.
