She testified that during her ac-
quultance with. Stokes he paid her
$1,200. which .Was $500 short of the
$1,700 which she had gluon him pre-
viously for investment, and that he
reported the investment did not turn
dot well.
Story of Shooting.
She told of meeting Ethel Conrad
who is jointly charged with her of
IshootiugStakes, last April. She testi-
defamatory things Stokes had said
about her (Miss Graham). The ones

self.

that she had invited Stokes to her
apartment on the night of June 7.
