must be watched with interest by all
who are familiar with tltaLbusiness.
The situation at. present is that the

establishing a system of state life in-
surance. The insurance ectnmisslou
er is now preparing forms for poli-
cies and blanks. and it is announced
that when they are ready officials lll
the counties will begin to take risks,

county clerlts and the state treasurer
is the custodian of the money. it is
specially stipulated that the state does
not assume any responsibility beyond
paying the expenses.
Making political officials chosen for

be dangerous to that extent. it is
