The paving committee composed of the riiy council and the city board of estimate and taxation of Norwalk. with the mayor as presiding officer. held a meeting last evening behind cloud doors in the city council chamber. in Wall street. At this time matters were very nearly wound up and the meeting on Thursday night of this week will probably see the finish of the work for which the committee was appointed. Norwailt is to pave a number of the principal streets and for the purpose have secured permission to bond the city for 3100.000 for the work. A city meeting on the matter appointed the loommitleo known as the paving com- mittee to thoroughly investigate the merits of the several forms of pave- 4meat and to submits araport on their ifindings along with a recammendaiiou as to the form they have selected from their study of each and all kinds for the paving. The committee has been busy for .ihe past weeks in which they hav’e worked upon the matter. Delegations have visited other cities and have pro cured facts and data as to all kinds iof pavement. Thorough and conscien- tious has each member acted in rela- tion to the matter, and as the meet- ‘ings have been executive sessions. what has been [ill on is in doubt. City Engineer Clinics N.
