last Saturday noon when $507 was tak-
en from a drawer. This amount was
the total payroll for the men in the
yard department. ‘
Foster L. Hawkins isuuportntend-

wanted to pay off some men in the
afternoon and he sent to the main
office for the money. The money was
'In envelope. and brought from the
main office to the allies of Superin-
tendent Hawkins by the onion boy.
It was all in a leather case. The
money was given to Clarence Herring-
ton. a limo keeper. and one of the
trusted employees. The latter placed
the money In his desk. At noon time
he left the clips and went to another
part of the plant to eel hie dinner.
The ofilce door was not locked nor was
the desk where the money was placed.
When Mr. Harrington retured to
the office and looked tor the money
the leather case was gone. There was
no trace of the money. The two men
immediately set upon making an in»
