most dlilicult part of laying the gas
pipes in Winnipauk a contract for
The work had to be done with a great
deal of blasting and the pipe has been
laid for the most part through solid
rock. 0n Pollard's Hill there is a ledge
of rock and all this had to be blasted
out. before the‘pipe coulde be laid.
The work at this point has not been
completed entirely however, but the
remainder of it is through earth and
can be finished in a comparatively
short time. Contrator Tony Paradise
has had the sub-control. for the blast-
ing work.
This morning Contractor Byington
started work on Armory Hill, where
he is to lay a gas mulu- for a distance
of about fifteen hundred feet. The
work is to start at West avenue and
continue up the hill, the ditch being
laid in one of the gutters that the road.
