not make a definite decision. however,
until last Saturday. when he received
word that he ltad been called unani-
mously to the pastorate of» the Crane-
ton Street llaptlst Church. in that
city. and Norwnlk people dlti not
know that he would accept until his
letter was read. Mr. Carpenter pro~
poses to close his labors here on April
30, and will preach his first sermon
in his new charge on Sunday. May 7.
After the reading of his resigna-
tion a meeting of the church was culi-
