The big electric plow of the Con-
' necticut Company made quick work of
the snow on the tracks of the local
lines. the East avenue and Gregory
Point early this morning. so that there
was practically no delay in the service
today on account of the snow storm.

 

The spring prophets are again very
much in retirement and well they
might be. All weather predictions
seem to go askew this winter. it was
i’reely predicted a few days ago that
spring had almost arrived. Most peo-
pll were convinced quite differently
this morning.

There will probably be a via-organica-
tion of the East Norwallt Walking
Club this spring. The club has been
almost out of existence since last fall
but Clayton L. Marshall is considering
ways and means for rejuvenating it
and has the hearty cooperation of the
secretary, Charles Fielding.

 

 

A letter written by'J. Beiden llurl-
butt and published in yesterday's 8cn~
tinel made a deep impressioa on East
Norwalk people, as was shown by the
comments this morning. The feeling
seems to be that sir. Hurlbutt showed
the ambitious scheme fathered by a
few people in its true light.

members present, in comparison with
its membership. The banner is held

The Ladies' Auxiliary. of Rownyton
Hose Company save a unique, but nev-
ertheless, very successful social and

Valentine's day party. last evening. in
the hose house. The attendance was
very gratifying to those having the
affairia charge. ice cream and cake
were served. the tables and dining-
room bei hansomely decorated in
honor of t e day. An orchestra com-
posed of Mrs. Earle Stevens. John Sav-
see. Charles Wells. Joseph Bridge and
Harvey S. Ackert. furnished music and
dancing was enjoyed Entll a late hour.

The regular monthly business meet-
ing of the Rowaylon Hose company
was held Monday evening in the com-
pany's quarters. in Rowayton avenue.
9. goodly number of members being in
attendance. After the regular routine
business had been transacted, it was
unanimously voted to pay for the we-
gon mostly purchased Mr. Anso-
vine, at Mt. Vernon. through whose
agency the wagon was purchased, was
present and explained the various
parts not already understood. Edwin
C. Godfrey and Edwin L Stevens the
committee appointed to solicit sub-
scriptions were present and reported
that they were very successful. having
about $300 in cash and as much more
subscribed for the new hose which
has been shipped from Providence.
