The meeting last evening of the citi-
zens of Winnipauk was a largely at-
tended and distinctly AArAlAurAnonious
one. The meeting was called by the
district committee for the purpose of
recommending theappointment by the
selectmen of someone to represent
their section of the town in the cou-
solidation attention. .1. Beltieu llurlbutt
was the name mentioned finally. anti
the selectmen were notified by the
clerk of the recommendation of the‘
meting.
The vote upon this matter was very
close indeed, and seemed to be more
through ignorance of the question at
hand, rather than a disagreement upon
the subject itself. Many thought tluAt'
the vote being taken was on the con-
solidation question, it is said. and con-‘
sequeuily, as they were not all in iav
\‘Ul‘ of it. they voted against the mo-
tion:

given over to the banquet tables and
