Highway conditions were such this
morning that it was almost possible to
use boats on the streets.
The natural growth oystermen who
went to Bridgeport this week could
havo staid at home and made nearly
as much money.
The East Norwalk youngsters have

The Rev. Lester F. Reynolds will
lead the Loyal Workers‘ Society meet-

The pastor. Rev. W. W. Gillies. will
have charge of the services tomorrow

Mrs. James Coucber is quite ill at
her home in Second street. This ill-
ness is particularly unfortunate. as
Mrs. (loucher's mother, Mrs. Esther R.
Murray died this week and the inner-
ul will be held this afternoon.
Constable Henry Seltzer has been
looking up the milk thieves. but the
latter have thus far escaped arrest.
These thieves work in quite widely
separated parts of the place and it is
hard to guess where they are going to
land next.

Blanchard in the Supreme Court has
dismissed the indictment against John
H. Tyson. a wealthy young man. of
Stamford. Conn. who was charged
with driving his automobile over ilioi
Cunderson and causing Gunderson's
death. The acidsnt happened at bligh-
ty-ilfth street and Amsterdam avenue.
on Feb. 23. 1908. The case had been
on the trial calendar frequently. but
always had been postponed at the re
quest of the District Attorney. who
said important witnesses for the State
were missing.
When Justice Blamhard was sitting
in the Criminal Branch of the Sn-
promo Court last month. Charles W
Ridgeway. attorney for Mr. Tyson.
made a motion that the indictment be
dismissed. This was after the case
had been called again and the District
Attorney had announced that witness-
es still were missing. Justice Blanch-
ard said that it was unfair to keep
an indictment. charging manslaughter
hanging over Mr. Tyson's head. He
declared that unless the case was
ready for trial at the next term or
court he would grant the motion of
Mr. Ridgeway.
Charles B. Whitman said that. win
nesseadesired by the prosecution had;
taken trips to Europe. The persons
who were wanted are Henry Fox and
Virginia Lawrence. Mr. Fox was in
the car with Mr. Tyson at the time
that Gunderaon was hurt. The man
who was injured mortally was a
steward of the Columbia Yacht Club.
it was charged that Mr. Tyson did
not sound his barn and that he did
not stop his car after the accident.
Miss Lawrence saw the owner of the
automobile on that day. She heard
him giving an accoum of the mic
lap.
The Tyson case was mentioned in
charges recently died against Mr.
