Richard Clarke. said to be the oldest
member of the Order of Passionista in
the United States both in point of age
and length of service. died of paraly-
cic yesterday at the Sacred Heart Re-
treat here. Brother Clarke was 81
years of age and a native of Martins-
burg. w. Virginia. Fifty-one years ago
he entered the order of Passionists at
Plitaburg. Pa.. completing his proba-
tion a year later. For years Brother
Clarke was engaged in the work of
collecting funds for file upbuilding of
the Catholic Churches. He traveled
extensively and had a wide acquain-
tance throughout the country. espec-
ially in the Eastern States.
