ing Beginning
Yesterday afternoon the Women's Mu-
nicipal League. of South Norwalk, met
in the Congregational Church parlors.
Although this was the first meeting as
u league'slnce June. the reports show-
ed that the committees had met and
that a great deal of Work had been
done.
The committee on streets stated that
the dry season had interfered with the
growth of the new trees in West street,
and that as soon as rain came. these
trees and the prlvet hedge on Railroad
avenue would be properly fertilized
and cared for.
The chairman of the committee on
schools reported that the unsanitary
conditions which had prevailed in some
of the city schools had been remedied.
The report of the rest room commit-
ttc was encofiraging. This showed that
during ‘thegvacatlon season the mom-
bors of the committee had served
faithfully, assisted by others; and that
kind .friends and league members had
remembered the rest room, as the long
list or donations of fresh vegetables.

A rousing meeting of the Voilmer
Club was held last evening at the
Democratic headquarters ‘ in South
Main street, when a number of ar-
rangements for the trip to Kiidgeport

liam Vollmer will be nominated for

Norwaik Oyster Growers' Associa-
tion is the name decided upon by the
dealers and cultivators of the NorWalk
district who have bsiided themselves
together for the purpose of furthering
the interests of the industry in this
locality andpsrtloulsrly to purify the
Sound waters, so that there may be
no opportunity fer complaint against
the Norwelk oyster.
A constitution and by love for the
new association has been prepared in
rough draft by Judge Joseph it. Tall-
ior, who was present at the meeting
last evening. The articles were dis-
cussed ln an Informal manner at
length, and amendments made so do-
velopments seem to warrant.
There was it. good attendance out for
last night's meeting and it is expected
the organisation will be completed at
another meeting. which will be held
Saturday night at the sonic place as
dust night's session, the Mabuckemo
Hotel.
The oystermen are going into the‘
matter in all earnestness, fully realis-
ing they must do something or lose
