is very largely from the outside old

put in when the water works were first
storm and are mostly in the center
ofthe city. The commissioners say
that If all the people would make re
p pairs to the leaky fixtures it would
' new a saving of a hell million gallons
of water daily. The commissioners
have installed about $1,800 worth of
meters this season and will probably
recommend that 310,000 of the annual
surplus revenue next year be put into
meters, this would cover about one-
helf of the public water system. With
a fair meter rate established. whereby
”the consumer would pay no more for
water than at the present time and
probably not as much on the average.
it is thought that by this means the
wastage of water will be greatly less-
ened.
