Church. who completed his work here

days before taking up his studies at
Upsaia College, in New Jersey. lie
will begin his post-graduate cuiirse st

A delegation of little New York girls
who have been enjoying an outing at
the children's home at Strawberry
Hill left shortly before it o'clock for
New York. The little tots gave every
evidence of having benentted by their
sojourn in the country. where they
could bretahe pure air for about two
weeks. About every one oi them had
an armfui of wild flowers to carry
home.
The hope is earnestly oxprcscd that
the two local parties may come to an

Grace Lcwndes, daughter of Cap~
taln and Mrs. Howard S. Lowndes. of
Seaview avenue. had a very enjoyable
party yesterday afternoon in honor. of
her fourth birthday. The event was
arranged by he parents and was at-
tenihid by neary twenty-fire of little
Miss mwndes' playmates. it had been
planned to have the collation served
on the lawn but on account of the was.
ther, a piassa was utilized. The after-
noon cleared tip handsomely. but It de-
veloped that the best plan was to con-
tinue the use of the plans. The little
folks had various games during the af-
ternoon and had a fine time in every
respect. They also remembered their
hostess with many beautiful presents.
There will be a special meeting of
the East Norwnlk Fire Department to-
morrow evening. This meeting will
'be held for the purpose oi making illi-
ai arrangements for the celebration in
connection with the delivery of the
new combination chemical and
wagon. which has been awaited for a
long time with much interest. it is
stated that the apparatus will be
ready for delivery this week. but the
intention is not to bring it over to
East Norwalk until next week, in or-
tunity to dry thoroughly. Some of
the features of the celebration will be
a parade over from South
new apparatus will be kept.
Some fun-loving boys in East Nor-
walk were at work Saturday and cans-
ed tome. little trouble as well as ex-
citement. Their work began when
they took a large watermelon from the
fruit stand of Dominick Canevarl. at
