matter under cover. the recent out-
break of typhoid fever in Winsted is
uneasiness and steps are being taken
to run down the cause of the outbreak
and prevent a further spread of the
disease. A special meeting of the
warden and burgeeses. doctors and
town ohlciala was held Monday even-
ing and themntter was discussed. but
those present agreed not to disclose
the doings of the meeting» it is
known. however, that a committee
was appointed to make an investiga-
tion. It is reported that Mad river.
which serves the borough as an open
sewer, is suspected. There are now
too cases at the hospital and there
are doubtless other cases that have
not been made public.
