Mrs. Lewis Reed.
Mrs. Lewis iieed died at her home,
48 Pleasant street. Danbnry. at 1:50
yesterday morning. after a three
months' illness. She was fifty-nine
years. eleven months and fifteen days
of eye. Although her death had been
expected for sometime. it comes. none
the less. as a distinct shock to her
relatives and a very large circle of
Manila. Mrs. Reed was horn in Ridge-
iiold. August (to. thrill. the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, James ll. Hoyt. of that
‘place. Her maiden name was Mary V.
.lloyl. She married howls lined. in
. ltldgeileld. October 5. 1870. at the age
‘of twenty. Mr. and hire. ileod lived
in llrowater. N 'i'.. for about twelve
years after their marriage, when they
went to lianbury. Mrs. Reed had lived
for over twenty-five years in the house
in which she died. The deceased was
a member of the Methodist Episcopal
church in ltldizofield. at the time of
her marriage. and affiliated with the
Dentiury Methodist church on soon as

had been a prominent and loyal moni-
