Troubles are piling up for the Fern-
wood Nursery, incorporated. of Siam-
ford. One of the troubles is an action
to iaeclose a mortgage for $85,000
held by Lowell M. Palmer. of Brook-
lyn. from whom the company pur-
chased property for its nursery busl‘
nose, Payment was to be made in
four installments of $10,000 each. on
iirst day of May. 1912. 1915, 1918 and
1921. and the final installment of $45.-
000 was to be paid on May 1. 1925. The
notes were to bear interest at 5 per
cent. Mr. Palmer claims the company
defaulted in interest. Hence the suit.
There are three parcels of land with
buildings. the total area being about
57 acres. A small part of the tract
was recently sold by the nursery com-
pany to the Stamford Hospital Cor-
poration. The papers were served by
Deputy Sheriff iiondrie.
