The lives of the ten families living
in the long building. known as the
Moody house. in Harbor avenue, wore
again putin Jeopardy this morning
shortly before 7 o’clock. when tire was
discovered between the walls of the
house. A general alarm was sent‘iu
and all the apparatus responded with
the exception of Pioneer Hook and
ladder Company's truck. as Driver
Arthur Hoe had gone home to break-
fast about 6:30 o'clock. The. fire was
in a different apartment from where
. it was discovered the other night. and
the axes were again brought into use.
and after considerable work the tire
was extinguished. '
The fire had probably been burning
for some tinie. as had the other one oi
night before last. but for lack of air
had just smouldered until it rcacbed
the outside. The chemical was used.
it is estimated that the damage will
not exceed 815.

fire auto truck with Ofilcer Charles
Page. Fire Chief Buttery Joseph (Ia—
hill, G. A. Franke and several others

make an investigation as to the cause
The investigation disclosed the fact
that the fire was. as Agent Franks had
suspect“, of incendiary origin. The
base-board had been recently removed
near where the fire . burning and in

been pretty well frightened since the

departed suddenly and could not be
located. This noon he returned to
Nash‘s, saying he had been out looking

Dr. Cane spoke upon ihcnublect
of Education. His topic was well ches‘
on and his short discourse was inter-
esting and instructive. 'l‘ho Glee Club
sang four selections in their usual
pleasing style. This Glee Club was
formed through the efforts of Miss lici-
en Flynn. the mnrtleclurer. and has
been rehearsed under her direction un.
til it has at last become a success.
Mills Hcleun V. Millard then sang May
Moon and her audience was delighted
with thesoag. lnterspcrsing the pro-
gram the guests enjoyed dancing to
the unfair. furnished by the Knights of
Columbus orchestra. The male quar-
tctic composed of Dr. .1. H. McArdle.
Edgar Perry. Charles J. Snlfiin and
George Green sang well and ‘their
voices were particularly harmonious.
At the conclusion of the program
dancing was again a feature.
Refreshments «insisting of ice
cream and cake were enjoyed until
the midnight hour.
Theat- affairs are given nearly every
month and are growing in popularity

was decorated last evening in the col-
ors of tho courtwyeiiow and purple

The railroad policemen and Con-

it appears that a gang can be seen
most any time. and found a choice col.

namesas Edward O‘Neil and Dan Kane.
The latter is from Hartford and the
name as Edward O'Neil and Dan Kane.
