tions in the academy building [or a

John C. Read acting as a committee
to represent tht.1 academy trustees
who as a body had previously given
their assent to the proposition. The
condo ation of the Center district
school house had necessitated ,other
provisions for housing the pupils of
a territory formerly divided into three
districts and the plan arrived at is
considered a highly satisfactory solu-
tion or the problem. By the terms 0!
the agreement the town will pay the
cost of changing partitions in the
building so its to better allot the space
for the two schools—the academy and
the public school-«and will also hear
the cost of installing a furnace. The
rent is to be $76 a year. the heating
expense being divided. One. of these .
days of course the town will have to
erect a school building of its own at '
the Center. Some years ago there

lect fell through for two reasons, one
