tion of departments in manual train-
ing for the boys, domestic science for
the girls. together with drawing and
music. The increased commercial d0.

School Committee. every member of
whom was present at the meeting last
evening, was on the decidedly prac-
tical matters it was urged that the
High School, which is the poor boy's
academy. and often the only college
that the poor boy gets. should not only
give him intellectual culture, but also
should train him tor practical work.
The same thing was also urged for the
girls.
We think that thc sentiment oi the
community will sustain the High
School (lommittoc in its desire to
equip the school in those branches,
it appeared at the meeting last cvn-
nlng, that there are two empty rooms
at the High School building. intended
for manual training and domestic
science.
No one sppcarcd to oppose- the cool-
