officials and representatives of the
Merchants’ and Mantitacturaa‘ Asocia-
tion and tho Norwalk Business Men's
Association made a strong argument
yesterday afternoon in favor of a trol-
ley loop at tile depot, on the occasion
of the trip down here from New Ha-
ven of Traffic Manager M. .i. Leary and
Chief Engineer Elwell. of the Connec-
ticut Company.
The conference between the local
people and the trolley officials. at the
South Norwnllt Club. which was (icu-l
cribedln yesterday's Sentinel, was a
very interesting one. and gum oppor-
tunity to explain to the trolley com-
pany representatives the situation in
reference to trolley conditions at the
depot anti the hope of the people of
the town that something in the way of
an improvement will he done.
Messrs. Leary and Elm-ll diti nor
commit themselves on just what
course the company will pursue. but
they gave assurance that something
will result. They were given every
opportunity to investigate the condi-
tions at the depot. for the whole,
ground was looked over when an ad-
journment was taken to the depot.
The visitors made the point that the.
job of building a loop about the depot,
will be an expensive one. but the city
officials and businesa men contended
