The annual Forefathers‘ supper.
last evening. at the South Norwslk
Congregational Church was a record
breaker, both In attendance and in in-
terest. The addresses were of an un-
usually high order. and the entire oc-
casion was full of enthusiasm.
From 6 to 6:45 o'clock a reception
and social was held. the members
of the church council serving as a re-
ception committee, and introducing
the members to. the distinguished
guests of the evening, Rev. Charles A.
Dinsmore. D. D.. of Waterbury. and
lProf. Willlstou Walker. D. D.. of Yale
University. _
A little after 6:45 the entire gathers
ing went down to the banquet room.

an overflow in the iloys' club rooms.
The supper was ill 'the general
charge of Mrs. Joseph H. Pillow. presi-
dent of the Woman‘s Association. and
Mrs. .l. Milieu Cobnrn. The guests’
table was presided over by Mrs. Law-
rence A. Douglass and ‘Miss Helen
Swartz. and was most beautifully dec~
oratcd, eliciting many favorable com-
ments. Inch guest was presented
with a souvenir of a Puritan calendar.
The other tables were in charge of
Mrs. W, ii. Swords. Mrs. i. S. Keep,
lilies Elizabeth I. 'I‘olies. Miss Lillie
Geller. Mrs. M, ii. McCausland. Mrs.
L. s. Beers, Mrs. l-‘. R. Smith, Mrs.
William Moore. Mrs, O. E. Weed and
Miss Margaret Lauder. The wait-

church, and were out attractive in
their Puritan costu

Following the subtler. Dr. Macfar-
land made a few introductory remarks.
saying that it was always a pleasure
to him to bring in his friends from
other cities to see the church and con-
gregation in which he takes so much
pride.
The first. speaker was Dr. Dlnsmore.
lie gave a very eloquent address on
"Some Puritan Principles." Dr. Dins'
more callcd aticntlon to the great
ideals which the forefathers had striv-
on for. At tho (lilt‘ilinfi of the address
he expressed warm congratulations at
the way in which the South Norwalk
Congregational (‘bnrch is setting an
example to the other churches of the
state. in the. cal-nest plan through
which it is ministering to the life and
welfare of the people.
After the singing of a. Forefatbers‘
iiyiun. Prof, Walker addressed the
gathering on “Shine Things New Eng-
land Owns to its Founders." While
it‘wus considerubl" of a task to main-
tain the high note which Dr. Dlns-
more had chuck. the second speaker
of the Ironiuu ably performed the

Mucfurlaud Is announced to preach an
appropriate sermon. At the Sunday
Evening institute the meeting will be
of a patriotic nature.

Liquor Prosecutor Leo Davis has
brought a formidable list of complaints
