The notes were, written on paper of
the same color and texture as that of
the original suicide note, and the hand
writing was practically iden-tlcel. Slight
changes in phraseology are all the
differences noted.
Taken from the hotel to police head-
quarters. Mrs. Martin underwent a
brief examination and then was trans
ferred III a taxicab to the station
house. On- tho way she talked ram
bllngly and several times referred to
Oscey Snead "that pom girl" and
“my daughter." The word "suicide"
was frequently on her lips. There are
hundreds of suicides every day. was
her comment to the detectives on the
case of her daughter. and no attention
would havo been paid to "this one.”
she added. "except that lie party had
money.”
Detectives worked on the on c. all
night and today it was announce that
the search for additional cvidcncc was
likely to be rewarded.
Meanwhile the acihlon of the Now
Jersey authorities was awaited. The
alleged crime was committed in tholr
jurisdiction and Mrs. Martin‘s speedy
removal across the Hudson was ex:
