It is now three years since the new
law regarding naturalization went Into
effect, and one can get an idea 01 Its
workings from the recorda'of the su‘
parlor court. as compared with those
of the civil common pleas court. where
eitisen's papers were issued before the
change.
The figures at hand show that only
254 new citizens have been made In
the three years. Under the old sys-
tem the common pleas court- has
made as many as 700 In a presiden-
tial year, while the off years would
show about. the lots! which has been
Issued In three years, including one
presidential election and one state
election.
