this city to allow of Sunday evening
moving picture exhibitions at the lo-
cal theatres. the new Hoyt's and
Music Hall. and . a morning a mem-

that from what he has heard, he ox-
pects that the matter will be brought
to the attention of the council at the
next meeting, in the form of a poti-
tion. to allow of the exhibitions.
Mr. Dunlap stated that during the
last week no loss than half a dozen
people have. approached him on the
subject. He. said, however, that none
of the number were connected with
the playhouses and are citizens of tho
city. Their point of argument to him

Harry W. Mother’s Car In Collision
With Another in NEW canssn.
Barry W. Miithsr had his automobile
wrecked in a collision with another
machine and so badly about 6 o'clock
last evening in New Canaan that the

F. llerry. a lecturer front the New
York People's tincture Course.
Mr. ilcrry's subject was “The Do
veiopmcut of the French Nation." and
his lecture was made both vivid and
impressive by the storcopticon views.

Romans in France. showing first all
the remains of thoir splendid nmphb
theatres, aqueducta and other endur-
ing structures. From this he went on
to other and various periods of the de-
velopment of the nation. down through
the period of the French Revolution
and the epoch of the grant Napoleon.

lecturer and he brought otit many
things in relation to the French peo-
ple not generally known.
Preceding the lecture a fine musical
program was rendered by the chorus.

Escaping Coal Gas Fatal to Miss
Weed and Nearly Killed
Her Sister ‘
Miss Betsy Weed, one of the oldest
residents of Dorian, died yesterday
morning as a result of being asphyxi-
atod by coal gas. Miss Wood lived
with her sister, and when both retired
Saturday evening the stove was given
a fresh supply of coal and the damper
shut on', and one of the covers raised.
The house filled with gas during the
night, and both sisters were seriously
affected by it, Miss Weed was uncon-
unless in the morning, and never ral—
lied. but the other sister recovered suf-
ficiently to procure help. and today
was quite comfortable.
Miss Weed was eighty-seven years
of ago. The funeral servtce will be
held from her late home tomorrow at
