STOLEN PAPEEO FOUND.
A package of papers. letters and can-
celled checks which were stolen from
the siitneld Hotel by a gang of crooks
recently. belonging to E. 8. Craig, pro
prletor of the hotel, were found a few
days ago behind a radiator at Cooley’s
Hotel. Springfield; Mr Craig was noti»
fied by 'phone and went to Springfield
Tuesday to indentlfy the articles.
The money and jewelry are still
missing together with the bonds. Tues-
day afternoon a lady's pocketbook was
found on the lawn in front of George
N. Thompson‘s residence in ‘Buiilold
and was identified as the property of
Miss Craig. Assistant Town Clerk L.
G. Allen found a man’s pocketbook un-
der the sink in the toilet at the post-
omce tonight. Nothing of value was
found in either.
