cities In the state that held elections
yesterday changes .were made in the
administrations of three of them. New
Haven and Waterbury elected Repub-
lican mayors in place of Delimcratic
while in New London the order was
reversed. The two Norwulks return-

were more or loss of a surprise and in
each case the majorities were corri-
paratively small. In New Haven May
or James B. Martin was defeated by
Frank .1. Rice by a plurality of 460 in
one of the largest votes polled in the

collector, the Republicans electing the

Company, of Waterbury, an action to
recover alleged damages. The plain-
tiff company claims that on May 6
1906, the defendant company issued to
it an insurance policy for 350.000 u
protection against a strike. The dc-
feudsnt company alleges that the war»
rant made false statements, claiming
that it was running} nonunion shop.
and that it had no previous labor trou-
bles when as a matter of fact, accord-
ing to the oliegation,-the moulders and
foundrymen of the company went out
on strike that the plaintiffs' shop was
a union shop, and that the strike leat-
ed two months and that there had
been previous labor ‘vtroublea. The
forge company claimed 826.000 dam-
ages for loss on orders and on inabil-

strike.
The security company refuses to
pay the claim on the basis of alleged
