The three-masted schooner Wehrum
left the harbor this morning being
towed out stertiward by the tug Addie
V. Another three-muted schooner has
been waiting down the harbor for sev-
eral days for the berth at the Hatch

The funeral of Alfonse Heinselman
will be held tomorrow afternoon at
2:30 from his late home, 23 Second
street. The interment will follow at

The mechanism of the Washington
street drawbridge is again in working
order. repairs having been completed
yesterday. While the delay was not
pleasant to boatmen, it was not such

The members of the East Norwalk
Yacht Club are enthusiastic over the
prospects of getting the East Norwalk
cliiinncl improved by some more dredg-
ing and the addition of bouvs. The
matter has been taken up in a busi-
ness-like manner by the government
and there is a feeling that the changes
will be brought about. These improve-
ments will benefit everybody who uses
the channel as well its the ,vuchtsmen.

The Evening Sentinelz—in last eve-
ning's issue of The Sentinel an article
appeared in regard to our late mishap,
which is entirely wrong. The idea of
my being such a confounded tool as to
try to cross a tow line! it was this
waerhen we were selling up the-

too late that the mud digger which is
widening the channel was moored with
steel cables instead of her "apuds."

man for constable but that the offer

caucus of these districts would name
a constable from here. While this
action of the Demorrats was a bit of
satisfaction. East Norwalk doesn't get
any constable, the Republicans fail-
ing to nominate one from here. The
last time a candidate for constable
from East Norwalk was voted on. he
was defeated.
it is a long time since East Norwalk
has had such a brief lire district meet-
ing as last night's. Less than a quar-
ter of an hour is going some for a ses-
sion which was largely for the purpose
of considering'the resignations of two
district officers. it is conceded, how-
ever, that the sea ion would not have
been over so soon f Messrs. Clark and
Robertson, the two electrical commis-
sioners, who have resigned, had been
in attendance. There were present
many people who would like to have
their side of the controversy which
prompted their resignations. As mat-
ters now stand, it is not expected that
this side of the matter will come out
fully.
