TION.
CHICAGO. Sept. lit—Preliminary
work for the convention of the Ameri-
can Bankers’ Association, which opens
formally tomorrow, coupled the atten-
tion of the many bankers gathered in
Chicago today. Committee meetings
filled the morning, among them being
the currency commission, which is to
report on the national finaliclal quote
tion; the federation legislative com-
mittee, and the Joint conference on
bills of lading.
While the committee meetings are
in progress the aesions of the conven-
tion of the National Association of
supervisors of State Banks was con-
vened. and a report on: uniform state
banking law was presented.
The sessions of the bankers conven-
tion will continue until Friday night.

inn here, before daylight today, 75

BARN DANCE iN WESTPORT.
Mrs. Lloyd Nash. of Westport, gave
an old fashioned burn dance in the
honor of her daughter's twenty-inst
birthday, Saturday night, and the of-
fair could not have been more of a
success in any way. The barn was
decorated tor the occasion with Jap-
anese lanterns and made a very pretty
appearance. Bentley's orchestra for
nlsbcd the music and after the dance
luncheon was served and all had a fine
time. About seventy people attended
many or them from Norwalk.
