tragedy and arrived at his home short-
ly after noon. lie was completely
broken up over the affair, and would
not say much about it. He is a woll~
known athlete, and had appeared ill
years past in several amateur athletic
meets held in The Norwnlks.
Another story of the affair was that
the elder (lavanagh had been drinking
and had asked his dallghicr-ill-law for
money. which she refused to give him.

G. Kidder. one of the best. known nit-n

ven system, and who for 55 years was
connected with the operating of the
road, died Saturday at an advanced
age. He retired on a pension in limb,

important undertakings on the vari-

merging of the various lines, and had
