lantic City yesterday morning has
moved eastward, and is now central
near Nantucket. It has produced heavy
rain along the New England coast
during the past 24 hours. The greatest
rain fall was reported front Boston.
where 2.26 inches fell. Considerable
cloudy weather prevails on the west-
ern side of the storm. Tire tempera-
tures continue high in the southwest.
The highest reported was 108 degrees
at Oklahoma. Conditions favor for
this vicinity fair weather, with some-
what higher temperature for; two or
three days.

About twenty rats were caught at
the Phoenix Engine house, last night.
and this morning they were turned
loose, in Main street, for the com
pany‘s dog to kill. The commotion at-
tracted quite a large crowd to the
spot. which cheered the dog to greater

Past Great Sachem William Miller,
of the Connecticut reservation of Red
Men, is planning to attend the national
convention, which will be held at De-
troit, Mich. This morning Mr. Miller
received a souvenir post card from
Councilman Albert M. l’ohlman. who is
looking over that city. Mr. I’Ohinifill
is taking a. little side trip following
his attendance at the national conven-
tion of the liaymakers, at Indianapo-
lis and expects to reach home the lat,-
