terday at the corner of East avenue
and Seavlew avenue. The editice is
making a stay at the corner for about
twenty-four hours until the wires are
removed for its further passage.
Tomorrow is the date for the long-
lookcd-forward-to Clambake of the
South Norwalk Fish Club. which will
be ‘held in Burchsrd's woods. All of
the details are on a big scale and the
menu will be one that will tempt any
epicure. Today the indications were
that the weather will be ideal. It is
believed that at least 200 people will
partake of the multitude of delicacies.

have been on an automobile tour of a
week through New England, returned
home last evening and report a most
delightful time. They were favored
by fine weather throughout. Their
itinerary included. lloston. Providence
and Narragansett Pier. They made

A number of interesting attractions
have been booked for Hoyt‘s Theatre
at an early ditto. On August 20, the
Yankee Doodle Girls will be here and
on August 24 the comic opera Dolly
Varden. with its own orchestra. Fred-
eric ThompsonTs Polly of the Circus
will be here on Labor Day. For the
first three days of next week the Eu-
gene Weber Stock Company will pre-
sent The Man otMystery. In addition
there will be moving pictures and van-
.devllle between the acts.

large buying orders. and when those

ferred more than making up its initial
loss. Elsewhere advances ranging
from 1 to 1 1-2 were. quite numerous
and embraced St. Paul. NewYork Cen-
tral. Reading. Northwestern. Northern
Pacific. U. 3. Steel. People's Gas,
Rock island and other stocks of sim-
liar importance St Paul pfd. jumped
six points. A late ntenslve realizing
movement in the Union Pacific stocks
drove the preferred back 2 i-2 and the
common and New York Central sagged
a point. The balance of the list was
not much affected by these declines
and at 11 oclock was ruling at the
