this afternoon or tonight. Saturday

was central over Lake Superior yes-
terday morning has moved eastward
and is now passing over the St. Law-
rencevalley, and this vicinity is on
the southern edge of it. it has pro-
duced during the past 24 hours warm,
muggy weather with local showers in
the Lake region and New England. An
area of high pressure is producing
pleasant weather In the western sec-

Cranbury, who was charged with hav
ing his cows 011 the public highway
came up before Judge Lockwood in
the town court this morning. ilarry
was discharged on the ground of his
not knowing that his cows were at
liberty.

Mayor F. l. Burnell' was driving down
Railroad avenue. when pussy ran in
front of the horse. One of the anl-
msl‘s hoofs struck the feline, and it
appeared as though she went about
thirty feet in the air. 0n coming down
she landed on the top of the doctor's
carriage, but did not linger long, as
she leaped from the vehicle, struck
the side of the Schaub building, and
fell to the ground. Then she scamper-

There was a big excursion of little
folks from New York at ltoton Point,
yesterday, who came entirely by rail.
There were eight railroad roaches full
of them. They disembarkt-d at Dur-
len, and it took a dozen or so trolley
cars to convey them the rest of the
way to the picnic grounds. They had
a glorious time all along the route,
on well as at the point. At the latter
place they indulged in games and the
various amusements afforded by the
