general assembly be prorogued? This
is the'questlon which members of that.
body will try to not answered fills

a date. and they shake their heads
when asked to make a ferecast. The
calamities hearings are about over,
the matters left open being mostly
those which have been recummitted.
Generally speaking, the business of
the session is far behind that of last
session. when adjournment was tak-
en in the first week of August. That
was the latest day by half a mouth
of any adjournment of a general as

Buines sees no hope of an adjourn-
ment by August 1, and Speaker Banks
and Senator Scarles can fix no time.
The claim is made that the plan of:

yet to report on the employers' liabil-
ity law, the corrupt practices act. the
amendments to section 3.918 of the
general statutes (the electric lighting
law), the new Sunday law, the Aura
tralian ballot law, the‘doing away with
the limitation of 85.000 in case of
death by accident. the fellow servant
law. the direct primary law. the reso
lution of inquiry introduced by Sena-
tor Bearis as to whether or not Massa-
chusetts has a right to abridge the
rights of the New orli, New Haven
and Hartford Rail ad Company an-
der it's, more liberal Connecticut char-
ter, the ‘matter of a majority vote in
the board of pardons, changes in‘the
night rates for telephone users, a new
concealed weapon law. amendments
to the conspiracy law, and civil service
reform .for state institutions. One
member of the jiaiiclary says that.

measures. Even if all reports were
