FAST MOTORCYCLIST ARRESTED.
Harry Romano Fined $7 and Costs by
Judge Taylor.
According to testimony before
Judge Joseph it. Taylor. in the police
court this morning, iiarry Romano.
twenty years old. rode through South
and North Main streets yesterday
morning on a. motor qcle at a speed
which endangered lives and weeds
serving of severe censure.
Judge Taylor adjudged lllln guilty
of riding at ll. reckless rate and fined
llinl $7 and costs, the total being $9.20.

that a repetition would probably mean
a jail sentence

Between 9 and 10 ociock yesterday
morning, complaint was made to Con-
stable J. .i. Goodwin, of the young
man's reckless riding. The constable
.lnstled around and was just in tillle to
see the rider disappear at a. speed be
estimated close to a mile a minute.
Junlus C. Walker, a carpenter, who
made the complaint, estimated the
speui at fifty miles an hour. He said
he had shouted a. warning to Romano,
on account of the danger to some peo
pic who were about to board an East
avenue trolley car. Romano rode up
West avenue to Norwaik. and by re-
quest from Constable Goodwin. Gap
tain of Police Thomas Hunt placed the
young fellow under arrest. He was re-
leased on bond for his appearance this
morning.
Romano declared that he was going
about twenty miles an hour on lower
South Main street, and passed through
the heart of the city at. about fifteen,
miles an hour.
No identification had been made up
to this afternoonmf the boy who was
found dead along the railroad tracks
in Darien, last week.
