ed a few dams ago from a Bridgeport

The new appliance weighs 5,000
pounds, and has a siren whistle. a
large brass bell. and a powerful re
volving search-light for night work.
It is designed to carry six men in
tires. although more could be taken
(lastly. it is titted with a 40-46 horse-
power engine which can easily speed
it along at a rate of over 5.0 miles an
hour. The steep hills cause but. slight
reduction in the speed.
The tire lightin apparatus consists
of two 351galloa faults for the chemi-
cal mixture and 250 feet at 1 1%- -lncb
hose through which the chemical is
towed to the blaze. The diameter of
