The Town of Darlen held quite an-
important meeting last night to talk
over a bill now before the legislature
giving t.lle__town the right to issue
bonds. it it sees fit at a subsequent
town meeting, to the extent of $75,000,
for the purpose of establishing a pub-
lic water-{supply 9nd to purchase exist-
ing charters. A public water supply
has been agitated in the town for sev:

he replied that his curiosity was arous-
ed'when he heard the noise of the
boys on the street, who were follow-
ing the three men. Attorney Stoddard
next asked him if he said anything to

even a murmur. and Jondreau replied
in the negative.
Attorney Cuneo again took the wit-
ness in band and asked him if he

sioners finally, at their office in Bridge-
port, rendored their Ofilcial decision in
the remonstrance against. the ‘snloou
conducted at 43 Chapel ‘strcet. Nora

This remonstrance had an extended
hearing a. few weeks ago. in the Nor-
walk court room, the remonstrants be-.

Police Thomas Bradley. that the neigh-
borhood is not sufficiently policed. A
little over a week ago it was given

commissioners subsequently stated
that they had given no decision at the
