meeting was well attended and the
discussion of program was interesting
and lively. .
‘The morning session was taken up
with the' discussion or history. The
sentiment of the Round Table was
that a continuous chronological course
through the elementary schools was
neither feasible nor wise; that some
history of countries other than our
should be taught in connection with
‘Unlted States history; that biography
and legend should be accorded due
recognitionin the grades as a. prepara~
tion for the broader study of history.
At noon the Round Table adjourned
until 1:30 and had lunch in the new
Y. M. i .. a building which is a model
of its kind and a great cledlt to the
cltv.
Tho aft ernoon session was taken up
with a report of the committee on leg-
islation. and discussion of the same.
It was brought out that very important
legislation was contemplated at this
mission or the Legislature—legislation
that, if passed. would tend gIcatly to
’ increase the efficiency of our school
system.
